History has been made here in Vienna today, with Dutch team Den Bosch taking the first ever EuroHockey Indoor Cup by a Dutch team.
Following the game, the Den Bosch coach Erik Wonink stated that he could not believe his luck. The coach surprised friend and foe with his team by winning the EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup.

Hearing from an exstatic Wonink one hour after their victory over Club de Campo (3-2) -"This is unbelievable, everyone realizes that we have achieved something unique. Our first goal was not to be relegated and realistically we aimed for the semi finals. But we won, because we were in great shape

Den Bosch started the Tournament slowly with a 1-0 loss to SK Slavia Praha. However, as they entered their second game, they were playing with much stronger conviction as they beat last year's finalists Ritm Grodno 12-1, with 7 different goal scorers. They then defeated host nation representative SV Arminen 3-1. Despite this, the initial lose made it impossible for them to leave at the top of their pool, finishing 2nd, meaning they would be facing Rot Weiss Koln in the semi-final.
A stunning performance as they beat the Germans on penalties, 3-0, following 40 minutes regular play and 10 minutes extra time which could not separate the two teams. This positioned them in the finals against Club de Campo and again another tight game. Following their pheneomenal performances in the 5 games across the previous 3 days the fatigue was evident. But on the final whistle the score was 3-2 for the Dutch ladies and a place in European hockey history.
The other games on the final day in Vienna did were almost equally as exciting. Rot Weiss Koln were pushed to their limits by SK Slavia Praha. The game finished 2 all and a dramatic Golden goal penalty corner by Stoeckel in the final minute of extra time allowed the German team to claim Bronze.
In the Relegation Pool C, the hosts SV Arminen did enough with a 1-0 win over Gintra to save their Championship ranking as did Ritm Grodno.
Final Ranking:
1) s-Hertogenbosch (NED) EuroHockey Champions
2) Club de Campo (ESP)
3) KTHC Rot-Weiss Köln (GER)
4) SK Slavia Praha (CZE)
5) HC Ritm-Azot Grodno (BLR)
6) SV Arminen (AUT)
7) Gintra Strekte Uni HC (LTU) Relegated to EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy 2014
8) Leicester HC (ENG) Relegated to EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy 2014."
