Argentina women claim South American Championship with conviction

Replicating their round games 5-1 success against Chile, Argentina confidently claim the South American Championship, leaving Chile with another silver medal finish.

After an early lead, Argentina quickly doubled up heading into the halftime break with a 2-0 lead. A collection of precision plays during the second half allowed Argentina several short corners, and enabled them to double their lead before the final whistle, finishing the game with a 4-0 victory.

Argentina's men continue to show their nations dominance throughout the America's, clinching yet another title for the prestigious hockey nation. At halftime, the teams were almost indistinguishable through their performance with both nations creating great goal scoring opportunities. Despite this, Argentina went into the break with a 2-1 lead after successfully sustaining a lot of pressure from the Chile side.

Following a 1-0 halftime score to Argetina in the round games between the two nations developed into a 6-0 landslide, anything could have happened in this gold medal clash. Despite this, Chile came out with the same intense conviction they had shown in the first half and secured several short corners but could not convert.

Argentina Junior women show they are still the premier American hockey nation

In a nail biting Pan American Junior Championship, Argentia's junior Women claim their 6th title. Following their surprise placement in the 2008 Junior Championship where they placed 3rd, this being the first championship they had no claimed gold at, Argentina were eager to prove they are still the dominant Pan American women's nation.
The final saw Argentina play off against Canada, who were featuring in the gold medal playoff for the first time in over a decade. In the round games, Argentina bested Canada, sitting with a comfortable 4-0 lead at half time, they eventually took the game 6-0 to head into the finals as confident tournament favorites.
