Replicating their round games 5-1 success against Chile, Argentina confidently claim the South American Championship, leaving Chile with another silver medal finish.

After an early lead, Argentina quickly doubled up heading into the halftime break with a 2-0 lead. A collection of precision plays during the second half allowed Argentina several short corners, and enabled them to double their lead before the final whistle, finishing the game with a 4-0 victory.



Uruguay and Brazil clashed in the first round game, and Uruguay edged out a 1-0 win in what was a highly contested game. Expectations were high for the bronze medal playoff as the two nations prepared to meet once more. Unfortunately for Brazil, Uruguay showed they had stepped up their finishing and were clinical with their goal scoring. Taking a 2-0 lead into halftime they continued their success in the second half with the game finishing comfortably at 4-1 for Uruguay, despite a late goal from Brazil.
